Eligibility of loans
Credit is assigned from the date of signing.
Any loan syndicated in the EMEA markets will be included.
Any loan that is syndicated in both the EMEA region and another region,
for example the US, will be included if a substantial (33%) proportion of
the loan is syndicated in the EMEA region.
A loan must be provided by at least two lenders, to be eligible for
accreditation.
Amended loans are eligible if majority/all bank consent has been achieved
under the loan documentation to change the margin, tenor or principal
amount. No accreditation will be given to change of bookrunners.
Add-on facilities or increases to loans are eligible, but only the increased
amount of the transaction will be credited.
Minimum maturity is 90 days.
There is no minimum size.
Loan amounts are converted into US dollars as per the FX rate on day of
entry into Loan Radar’s database, which will occur on the same day the
information is received.
League table ranking will then be calculated in terms of US dollar volumes.
In the case of loans supporting M&A bids, full credit will be awarded to
bookrunners in a losing bid if there has been at least one stage of
syndication.
If a loan is cancelled after an agreement has signed and fees paid,
refinanced or amended, it will remain eligible for ranking.
Leveraged transactions are classified as such if total (ie: senior plus
mezzanine financing) net debt:EBITDA ratios are greater than 3.5x.
Bilaterals and co-ordinated bilaterals will not be included.
MLA and bookrunner titles
The league tables credit MLAs and bookrunners.
There is no restriction on the number of bookrunners receiving ranking
credit.
Credit is awarded pro-rata between the MLAs and bookrunners. If there
are different banks syndicating different tranches, each tranche will be
considered separately.
If the lender group comprises solely MLAs, no bank will be eligible for
bookrunner credit.
On self-arranged and club deals, banks will receive credit as MLAs only.
Bookrunner credit will only be given if there are at least two tiers of banks
and if bookrunner status is accorded in the loan documentation.
No bookrunner credit will be awarded to deal co-ordinators and will be
shown at the same level as the other MLAs.
League table data will be kept confidential upon request.
