Loan Radar Data Wizard

(NB: Data is only as accurate as that which is submitted to Loan Radar. This site records all loans with credit assigned from the date of signing)

The Loan Radar Data Wizard is a custom-made tool designed to help subscribers to access concise, up-to-date information from the EMEA loan markets.

The Wizard enables you to formulate your own searches based on easily identifiable loan criteria.

The tool allows you to create your own league tables and charts. Your own user-defined searches can then be saved for later use - all available in a simple easy to understand format.

General Explanation:

The Wizard is structured so users can:

  1. filter criteria according to steps listed below, and then
  2. assess results generated from those choices.

Step One:

Filters are split according to Banks or Borrowers.

Choices can be made from specific filter criteria under the following headlines:

  • Bank Characteristics or Borrower characteristics
  • Search Text
  • Loan Signed
  • Loans Maturing
  • Loan Characteristics

Step Two:

This continues the filtering process with the following choices:

  • Market Sector
  • Select Region
  • Loan Currency
  • Loan Volume (US dollar equivalent)
  • Tenor

Step Three:

Results are split in three sub-sections:

  • 'Raw Data'
  • 'User Defined League Tables', and
  • 'Charts'

Information can be downloaded into spreadsheets and then printed, and then saved into 'Previous Searches'.

FILTER SECTION: Steps One and Two

Bank or Borrower Characteristics

Bank

Selection can be made by Bookrunner or MLA status, or alternatively by selecting an individual bank or banks in alphabetical order.

Borrower

Subscribers can search for Borrowers either by selecting 'All' on the data base or by specific name from an alphabetical list.

Search text

Searches for 'Key Words' applicable to signed loans and bank and borrower names.

Loans signed

Data is filtered for EMEA signed loans from 1 January 2005 to the present.

Loans maturing

This allows subscribers to pick all loans maturing from today's date.

NB: If this option is selected, the default X axis on the charts in the 'Results' section appears as 'Maturity' rather than 'Signed Date'.

Loan characteristics

Choose whether or not to select asset financing (including project, property, shipping, aircraft, export and leasing) or leveraged loans.

See Loan Radar league table rules for all definitions.

Market Sector

Select a category from either 'Financial' or 'Non-Financial'.

This will then allow the subscriber to drill down further through sub-sector classes.

Please note: we classify loans according to the primary use of the loan in question - please see link for detailed run down of each market sub-sector.

Region

Choose any region from 'Western Europe', 'Central & Eastern Europe', 'Iberia & the Mediterranean', 'Nordic Region', 'Africa & the Middle East' and 'Asia Pacific'.

Alternatively select any of the countries by alphabetical order.

Please note: loans are assigned a 'Country of Origin' based on where the Borrower is registered.

If the Borrower is a multi-national entity then we take into account the geographic base where the loan is being applied.

Loan Currency

Any individual currency selection will return data, league table and chart information displayed in that currency only.

Multi-currency options are expressed in US dollar equivalent.

Loan Amounts (US dollar equivalent)

Loan Amounts can be selected within certain ranges as follows:

  • USD0-100m,
  • USD101-500m,
  • USD501-1bn, or
  • USD1bn+.

Please note: Volumes are taken from tranche sizes. If, for example, you are selecting loans transacted by BNP Paribas, then only tranches where that particular bank provided funding will be displayed.

Where deals have multi-currency tranches, every tranche is converted to US dollars.

Tenor

Specific maturities can be selected, according to search criteria.

Please note that by clicking on the 'Loans Maturing' tab, then 'Tenor' selection is automatically disabled.

RESULTS SECTION

User Defined League Tables

'Tables' are generated automatically from selections made in Steps One and Two above.

The 'Filter' drills down further and allows the selection of specific time periods.

The 'Show' button re-generates the league table and data.

'Download Data' into Excel file format and/or print data.

Raw Data

The information details all raw data in chronological order to create 'User Defined League Tables' and 'Charts'.

Charts

Notes:

  • Users may select to view either 'Bar Chart' (default view) or 'Pie Charts'. The charts aim to show simple volumes on the vertical (Y) axis versus a time line on the horizontal (X) axis (in US dollar equivalent if no other choice selected).
  • Click on 'Sub-headlines' on the left hand panel to refine 'My Selections by Borrower' – where a simple pop up will appear. Select 'Submit' button to make choices and then the 'Redraw' button to review chart again by new sub-categories.
  1. 'Title': insert appropriate title here.
  2. 'Y' Axis: choose to view data by either 'Volume' (default) or by number of 'Deals'. (Note: if a loan has three tranches, that deal is counted as one)
  3. 'X' Axis: choose to view data by either 'Signed date' (default) or 'Maturity'
  4. Use the 'Compare' filter to 'Redraw' the chart using specific filters.
Note: The chart may only be redrawn if two or more choices are made using the stage one and two filters.

Saved Searches

This function saves only previously searched criteria (via the 'Step one' and 'Step two' filters).

Click onto 'Save this Data Search' in the left hand option panel to save a chosen filtered search.

Click on 'Previous Searches' to review selections.
